If Hope Is

A poem

If hope is a thing with feathers
How sad I have none to grow

If hope is just a heartache
It’s a pain I often know

If hope is merely a meme
It may reach only my eyes and ears

If hope is contagious
I have to be within its sphere

If hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have
What does that say about hope having the power to save

My hope is more than a wish or dream I attach to whatever I please
He is Jesus who’s in me wherever I am shining His light on all I see

I wrote this a couple of years ago.

I am taking a story break right now but will post an occasional poem.

Born twice, I die daily. Serious about Jesus. What I write you may not want to read. Okay. I write what I believe and what I learn from others, just like you.
