Eternity And Back Again

A poem

Pre me
Before the rain
A glint of light flickered
Awakened by His whispered breath
I was

New leaf
Spring’s announcement
Hidden life now breaks forth
Jubilant laughs of nature’s hues
Alive

Serpent
Stretched skin Slithers
Venom in an apple
Garden of Eden marked with swords
Guarded

Matcha
Ground tea leaves soothe
Until supply runs dry
Cannot touch cancer of my soul
What now

Woman
More than an aide
Amen! bearer of God
Crushing the dragon’s evil head
Atoned

Black tie
Is not required
I need no rare attire
A humble thanks and plea will do
Secure

Resolve
No half and half
Not a question be asked
Only a new life to be lived
I win

A cinquain is a 5-line stanza with a syllabic pattern of 2-4-6-8-2. Random words/phrases used are,

before the rain, new leaf, Garden of Eden, matcha, dragon, black tie, and half and half.
