Authenticity at the Core

A poem

Mary Hood

--

How sweet the gesture

Ask and you shall receive

How harsh a sting when comes a stark surprise

An answer you had not thought to perceive

A price required you may deny

How serious my questions be

Do I think no part of me required

Rip wide open this veiled heart

Expose my selfish, base desires

I love when I am gently led

Beside waters ever still

But first He drives me to my knees

It’s only there…

Born twice, I die daily. Serious about Jesus. What I write you may not want to read. Okay. I write what I believe and what I learn from others, just like you.
